MobileTECH 2018 is now less than 3 weeks away.
Hosted in Rotoura, MobileTECH 2018 will run on the 27-28 March 2018. 300 primary industry and technology leaders will meet to network, gain insights and discuss the latest digital innovations impacting the sector.
The theme this year is ‘Innovation through Smart Data’. In the past, innovations in hardware and machines were the main productivity drivers. Now business data, machine learning and decision making software are the catalysts for future growth.
Here’s a snapshot of what is in store for delegates at MobileTECH 2018:
MobileTECH 2018 will feature over 40 speakers. Presentations will cover a number of topics, including: creating better collaboration and investment in agritech, understanding the impact of artificial intelligence, the current state of the Internet of Things, redefining health & safety applications in the digital world, improving the agri-food value chain, using advanced imagery for environmental decisions and blockchain’s potential for the sector.
Our Keynote Presenters include industry leader and Chairperson of Agribusiness NZ, Conor English, Andrew Cushen, Deputy Chief Executive of InternetNZ and Sam Trethewey, Director of SproutX, an Australian-based agritech accelerator.
The Meet the Future Leaders Panel will, once again, be a very popular session. The panel will be led by Young Farmers NZ CEO, Terry Copeland and feature Te Awamutu famer, Rachael Phillips, last year’s Young Farmer of the Year runner-up, Hamish Best and Patrick Malley, a former Young Grower and Young Horticulturalist of the Year winner. This panel highlights the importance of the younger generation as early adopters and drivers of new technologies into the future.
The Meet the Early Adaptors Panel is another important part of MobileTECH. We will hear from a passionate cross-section of early adopters and their views on technology integration and where the real needs are within their businesses. The panel will be led by Agrarian Managing Director, St John Craner and feature Grant Stevenson from Mr Apple, Shane Kelly from Ngai Tahu Farming and George Tatham from Matariki Terraces.
MobileTECH 2018 will also feature panel discussions on industry collaboration within the agritech sector and how the industry can capitalise on the Internet of Things.
Case studies will be a major highlight this year. Several presentations will provide valuable insights from successful installations of digital technologies within a number of food and fibre operations.
It will be a packed two days at MobileTECH 2018. The focus will be on showcasing new digital technologies and how they can be best integrated into the day-to-day running of businesses throughout the agricultural, horticultural and forestry industries.
